Why do we always have to have an opinion? Why does everyone always know the answer? Even if you’re right when something has been done why be besotten in outrage?
It is easy to see in some forums there are people that are always reacting to things. Most people seem to want to broadcast their outrage. Does this help them feel morally superior?
How does outrage help you? How does it help the people you see using it? Does embodying that outrage really make you feel good?
Next time something in the news has you feeling a tenor of frustration or you see others proclaiming their angst. Stop. Think slowly. What is the point? How will engaging help?
Save your energy and bandwidth for conversations that really matter. Save them for intellectually stimulating conversations not those that are about how people feel about something. Debates can rarely be had when people are feeling rather than thinking.
